Rani Woolpert
Rani Woolpert is a designer and artist working in various media and disciplines including graphic design, motion graphics, interior design, painting, drawing, video, mixed-media sculpture, lighting, and event design and production. Co-founder of Transistor, a gallery/shop/performance space which opened in the fall of 2009, Rani began her art and design career by attending The School of the Art Institute at the age of 17. She received a BFA from Colorado State University and began working as a motion graphics artist using Adobe After Effects and Maya in 1997. She has worked as an associate creative director, creating print collateral, web sites, digital signage and event theme graphics for such clients as Hyatt Hotels, Hilton Hotels and The Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau. In 2005, Rani completed a post-baccalaureate certificate in Art & Technology Studies from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, focusing on circuit-building and sculpture. Rani has presented workshops and training seminars to over 300 students in subjects ranging from Adobe After Effects and design software to live video mixing, figure drawing, oil painting, lamp-building and light box creation.
